How a drum works-

Water is directed through the bottom drains and skimmers in the pond to the drum. As it flows through the interior of the drum filter the mesh collects the dirt particles. Once the mesh starts to slowly clog up with dirt then the water level on the clean side of the drum will start to drop. Once it drops past a preselected level the float switch will trigger the control box which will activate the high pressure pump to start jetting water onto the top of the mesh. At the same time the motor will rotate the drum to ensure the entire mesh is cleaned. The dirt trapped in the mesh will be flushed down the waste chute and discharged into the drainage pipe.

Once the cycle is completed the water level in the clean side of the drum will return to its normal level, the float switch will reset, the mesh will be clean and the whole process will start again

The cleaning process only uses about 1,5 litres of water.
